Joshua Sherrod has taken on the challenge of planning an event in the middle of a pandemic. He’s the organizer of the MoTown Craft Beer Festival.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, the organizers are optimistic about holding the event on June 19th, but if the state of Illinois isn’t ready yet for this type of event, August 14 is the backup date.
There are two components of this event: running and craft beer.
“I think runners like beer and I think beer-drinkers like to run,” said Sherrod. “You feel good exercising out there and then you get to feel even better with a couple good craft beers in your hand after, celebrating.”
During the day there’s the MoTown Mile, 6k road race, and kids races, and later on is the Motown Craft Beer Festival. Find more information on the event here.
